The Daily Gambling Fix 10/20/11 — Sofia
The Game: Chicago Blackhawks @ Colorado Avalanche
The Reason: Despite winning their last five games in a row (all on the road) and bumping their record on the season to 5-1, the Colorado Avalanche still seem to be getting little respect from odds makers. Despite their impressive play thus far, the Avs are still pegged as the underdogs at home for tonight’s game against the Blackhawks. As a result, we can’t help but jump on the value. The Avs have a good young group of players and they had success against the Hawks last season, winning three of their four meetings. Look for them to continue their winning ways as they make it six in a row tonight.
The Game: New York Rangers @ Calgary Flames
The Reason: Two of the league’s top goaltenders face off in Calgary tonight when Henrik Lundqvist and Miikka Kiprusoff start between the pipes for their respective teams. In four starts this season, Lundqvist has an impressive 1.69 GAA, while Kiprusoff isn’t too far behind with a 2.27 GAA. The Rangers have gone over the five-goal total only once in five games this season, while the Flames haven’t gone over the five-goal total in their last three games. Look for a low scoring game to unfold tonight as this game goes under the total.
2011 Record: (196-181-9), This Week: (3-3), Last Week: (4-6)
