Stat Line Of The Night — 10/26/11 — Brian Elliott
Heading into the 2011-12 NHL season, Jaroslav Halak was pegged as the St. Louis Blues number one goaltender. Less than a month into the season, it appears as though he has lost that position to former Ottawa Senator goaltender Brian Elliott.
Elliott further cemented his position as the Blues top goalie with his performance last night against the Vancouver Canucks, as he stopped all 32 shots that came his way, en route to the 3-0 shutout victory. Elliott was especially busy during the third period, as the Canucks threw everything and the kitchen sink at him in an effort to close the gap, but Elliott was up to the task, making 17 saves in the final frame.
That effort earned Elliott’s team an impressive road victory and it earned himself “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, October 26, 2011.
