David Freese Walk-Off Homer Caps An Entertaining Game 6 Of The World Series (Video)
Nineteen total runs, eleven total innings, six home runs, and on two separate occasions the Texas Rangers found themselves one strike away from winning the World Series, only to have hits by David Freese in the bottom of the ninth and Lance Berkman in the bottom of the tenth spoil their celebration. And then came Freese’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th, which gave his St. Louis Cardinals the improbable 10-9 victory and sent the series to a seventh and deciding game tonight at Busch Stadium.
Yes, Game 6 of the 2011 World Series certainly had it all. And for those of you who missed it, I’d strongly advise that you at least take the time to watch Freese’s walk-off homer in the eleventh, which put the finishing touches on this instant classic.
Best World Series game ever? It has my vote.
