MLS Playoff Game Between LA Galaxy And NY Red Bulls Ends In A Brawl (Video)
The visiting Los Angeles Galaxy frustrated the New York Red Bulls throughout the duration of their 1-0 victory during the first leg of their Western Conference semi-final. It showed following the final whistle, as tempers flared and players from both teams exchanged pleasantries, resulting in two post-game red cards being issued.
Seconds after the game had ended, Rafa Marquez of the Red Bulls threw the ball at the Galaxy’s Landon Donovan in an act of frustration. That incited some pushing and shoving between the players, causing Marquez to flop to the ground in a heap of pain from what the commentators jokingly believed to be the result of “a fly in the eye.”
Both Marquez and Galaxy midfielder Juninho were issued red cards and will be suspended for the second leg between these two teams on Thursday.
Here is a look at the incident.
