Stat Line Of The Night — 11/7/11 — Nathan Horton
The Boston Bruins opened the 2011-12 NHL season with only three wins in their first 10 games, causing many to blame their early struggles on a Stanley Cup hangover. However, they have been able to turn things around recently, heading into last night’s game with victories in each of their two previous games. They would extend that winning streak to a season-high three games, thanks in large part to a solid offensive effort from Nathan Horton.
The Bruins’ winger scored goals in both the first and third period, and he added an assist on a Milan Lucic third period goal, as Boston cruised to the 6-2 win over the New York Islanders. Horton entered the game with only five points in his previous 12 games, but his most recent effort has upped his total to four goals and four assist on the season, and it also earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, November 7, 2011.
