The Game: Oklahoma State @ Iowa State
The Reason: The Cowboys are in position to earn a trip to the BCS National Championship game at the moment, but with many looking ahead to next week’s epic battle with Oklahoma, Brandon Weeden and company will want to make sure they go into that game in tip-top form. That could be bad news for Iowa State, who has allowed an average of 29.8 points against per game. They have allowed at least 40 points against to Iowa, Baylor, Missouri and Texas Tech. Oklahoma State’s offense is better than all of the aforementioned teams. Look for them to put up plenty of points and come away with the sizable victory on the road tonight.
The Game: Buffalo Sabres @ Carolina Hurricanes
The Reason: The Sabres might not have Ryan Miller in goal, but the Sabres have a trusted backup in Jhonas Enroth, who is 6-1 on the season. Buffalo has won five of their last seven overall and six of their last eight on the road. As for the Hurricanes, they have lost six of their last seven. The road team has won the last three games between these two teams. Look for the Sabres to make it four in a row for the road team as they take advantage of a slumping Canes team and earn the win.
