Matt Frattin Dangles, Sets Up A Beautiful Goal (Video)
The Toronto Maple Leafs’ fourth goal during last night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning was a special one for Joe Colborne, as it was the first goal of his NHL career. It was also a special goal for anyone else watching it, thanks to some nifty moves from Colborne’s linemate, Matt Frattin.
With the Leafs already leading by a score of 3-1 near the end of the second period, Frattin was sent streaking down the middle of the ice before flipping the puck between two defenders and delivering a perfect behind-the-back pass to Colborne, who managed to get just enough of the puck to bury it past an out-of-position Dwayne Roloson.
With Jamie Benn and Matt Duchene already scoring a couple of beauties this season, Colborne’s goal will be hard pressed to earn “Goal of the Year” honors. However, that shouldn’t stop us from showing it some love.
