The Daily Gambling Fix 11/29/11 — Armie
The Game: St. Louis Blues @ Washington Capitals
The Reason: The Caps have not been good this season, but most of their problems have come on the road, where they are 4-7. At home, the Caps are still an impressive 8-2-1. As for the Blues, they have been hot as of late, but most of their success has come at home. On the road they are 5-6-1 on the season and 2-4 in their last six. With a new coach behind their bench, look for an inspired effort from the Capitals players as they give Dale Hunter his first win.
The Game: Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Rangers
The Reason: The Pittsburgh Penguins are averaging 3.21 goals per game this season, and they have averaged 4.25 goals per game in the four games since Sidney Crosby’s return. They will travel to New York to take on a Rangers team that has gone over in six of their last nine home games. The last three meetings between these two teams have all gone well over the 5-goal total, and five of their last six games in New York have gone over the total. When Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are on the ice, there is always a good chance that plenty of goals will be scored. We’ll take that chance. Give us the over.
2011 Record: (213-211-9), This Week: (1-1), Last Week: (3-6-1)
