Stat Line Of The Night — 12/11/11 — Maurice Jones-Drew
With the first weekend of fantasy football playoffs kicking off yesterday, many owners were banking on a big day from Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew. He didn’t disappoint, as the man they call “Pocket Hercules” provided a Herculean effort of his own against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jones-Drew’s yardage totals were not all that impressive, as he managed to gain only 85 yards on the ground and 51 yards through the air. However, his efficiency in the red zone was unmatched on this day. In addition to punching in two-1-yard touchdown rushes, Jones-Drew also found the end zone twice via 5-yard passes from quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Those four touchdowns accounted for a total of 24 fantasy points (on his touchdowns alone), and they helped the Jags run away with an easy 41-14 victory. It also earned MJD the “Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, December 11, 2011.
