Patrick Kane Scores An Incredible Shootout Goal (Video)
Patrick Kane is accustomed to using his blazing speed and accurate shot in order to score goals, but he didn’t need either to beat Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom during last night’s shootout. Moving towards the goal at a snail’s pace, all that the Blackhawks’ All-Star forward needed was some wicked stickhandling in order to get Backstrom sliding way out of position. Once he did that, all that was left for Kane to do was simply slide the puck into the empty net and earn his team the shootout victory.
This sweet set of hands may not be enough to earn Kane “Goal of the Year” honors, thanks to previous performances from Jamie Benn and Matt Duchene, but he does appear to be a front-runner for “Shootout Goal of the Year.” Sorry Bertuzzi.
