Stat Line Of The Night — 1/3/12 — Kobe Bryant
Heading into the 2011-12 NBA season, many basketball pundits believed father time would finally take its toll on Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. With the Lakers sitting at 3-3 and Kobe failing to record 30 points in any of his first six games this season, that analysis appeared to be an accurate one. However, last night’s performance has us thinking that perhaps it is a little too early for us to be counting out the Black Mamba and his team.
Kobe appears to have shaken off the wrist injury that plagued him through the first week of the season, as he recorded 37 points, eight rebounds, six assists and one block during the Lakers’ 108-99 victory. He had some help from center Andrew Bynum, who recorded the first 20-20 of his seven-year career with 21 points and 22 rebounds. But despite Bynum’s big contribution, it is Bryant who earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
