The Daily Gambling Fix 1/10/12 — Melissa Riso
The Game: San Jose Sharks @ Minnesota Wild
The Reason: The San Jose Sharks have gone under the total in six of their last seven games overall, and seven of their last eight on the road. They are scoring only 2.95 goals per game, while allowing a miniscule 2.34 against. As for the Wild, they have scored only 2.29 goals per game this season, and they are allowing only 2.40 against. They have scored just eight goals in their last five games, and four of them came during a 4-3 win over the Oilers. Both meetings between these two teams have gone under the total this season, and I expect the same to happen tonight.
The Game: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins
The Reason: The Sens haven’t had a whole lot of success in Pittsburgh, but they enter this game having won five of their last six, including an impressive victory over the Flyers in their last contest. As for the Penguins, they have hit a bump in the road, as injuries to several key players, including Sidney Crosby, James Neal, Jordan Staal and Kris Letang, have caused them to drop four of their last five games. With Ottawa healthy and playing some of their best hockey of the season at the moment, I expect them to find success in Pittsburgh this time around, as they come away with the victory.
2012 Record: (6-4), This Week: (1-1), Last Week: (5-3)
