Stat Line Of The Night — 1/11/12 — Kobe Bryant
Stat Line Of The Night — 1/12/12 — Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard can be a tough man for opposing teams to stop, but the Golden State Warriors figured they had come up with the perfect plan during their game against the Orlando Magic last night. That plan was simple; foul Howard everytime he runs down the court.
While they were able to execute it to perfection, that plan didn’t work out quite as well as the Warriors may have expected, as Howard went to the foul line an NBA record 39 times. He would convert on 21 of those free-throw attempts, en route to a 45-points, 23-rebound performance. Howard would also add four steals, three assists and two blocked shots, as the Magic used a solid fourth quarter to earn the 117-109 victory.
It was a record-breaking performance for Howard, and it earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, January 12, 2012.
