Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night — Smith vs. Chipchura — 1/24/12
It was a busy night of fisticuffs in the NHL on Tuesday, as a total of six fights took place on the ice. As for the best bout of the evening, that came during a game between the Ottawa Senators and the Phoenix Coyotes, as Zack Smith and Kyle Chipchura started the second period off with a bang, dropping their gloves seconds after the opening faceoff.
Chipchura would go on to land a majority of the blows, but both combatants threw enough punches to tire themselves out after 40 seconds and earn a spot on the “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Tuesday, January 24, 2012.
