Stat Line Of The Night — 1/25/12 — Kevin Love
Stat Line Of The Night — 1/26/12 — Paul Pierce
With the likes of Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo and Jermaine O’Neal all sidelined due to injury, someone needed to step up and fill the large void left in the Boston Celtics line-up during last night’s game against the Orlando Magic. As you may have already expected, that someone would be Paul Pierce.
The Magic entered the game with only two losses in eight games at the Amway Center, but they would be handed another loss thanks to a stellar performance by Pierce, as the Celtics guard recorded 24 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and a block during just over 44 minutes of play. He was especially good in the second half, as he scored 19 of his 24 points in the frame and helped his team erase a 27-point deficit, en route to the 91-83 victory.
It has been a disappointing start to the season thus far for the Celtics, as they remain under the .500 mark with an 8-9 record. More performances like this one from Pierce could help them get back to their winning ways, but for now he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, January 26, 2011.
