Stat Line Of The Night — 1/26/12 — Paul Pierce
Stat Line Of The Night — 1/29/12 — Brandon Marshall
Despite making 81 receptions for 1,214 yards and being named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, Miami Dolphins’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall still had a difficult time finding the end zone during the 2011 NFL season, as he recorded only six touchdowns in his 16 games played.
Interestingly enough, he would have no such problems during last night’s Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
Perhaps it was the fact that he had the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers and Andy Dalton throwing to him, rather than Matt Moore. Or perhaps it was the lackadaisical defense being played by the NFC cornerbacks. But whatever the case may be, there seemed to be no stopping Marshall on this night, as he hauled in six receptions for 176 yards and a Pro Bowl record four touchdowns.
Those four touchdowns would not only help the AFC escape with a 59-41 victory, but they would also earn Marshall MVP honors, as well as “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, January 29, 2012.
