Brad Marchand’s Epic Breakaway Fail! (Video)
It had been seven days since the Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand last played a game heading into last night’s contest against the Ottawa Senators, and the effects of the long layoff seemed to linger throughout the opening two periods. Thankfully, Marchand was able to shake off the rust in time to record the game-tying goal in the third period, but not before making a complete fool of himself during this embarrassing breakaway attempt ten minutes into the game.
And Marchand wasn’t the only one dealing with a rust issue yesterday evening, as Sens goalie Craig Anderson couldn’t handle a 90-foot shot from Dennis Seidenberg seven minutes into the third period. That goal would turn out to be the game-winner, as the Bruins came back from down 3-1 to earn the 4-3 victory.
