Here’s Mike Austin’s Frightening Crash During The NHRA’s 2012 Winternationals (Video)
The 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series kicked off over the weekend, and it nearly ended as quickly as it started for Mike Austin.
While taking part in the first round of the 2012 O’Reilly Auto Parts Winternationals in California on Saturday, Austin’s Top Alcohol Dragster spun out of control, hitting the retaining wall before soaring several feet into the air and crashing into the base of the timing and scoring tower.
Those in attendance watched in silence as safety workers rushed in to help Austin. Surprisingly, he was able to walk away from their frightening incident unharmed, but his dragster wasn’t so lucky.
