Stat Line Of The Night — 2/13/12 — Joe Pavalski
Entering the 2011-12 NHL season, Joe Pavelski of the San Jose Sharks had never passed the 25 goal mark in any of his previous five seasons in the league. It is beginning to look like his sixth season could be a charm.
Pavelski entered the Sharks’ 54th game of the season with 20 goals and 60 minutes later he would leave the Sharks’ 54th game of the season with 22 goals. The 27-year-old right winger kicked off the scoring during last night’s game against the Washington Capitals, as he notched the first two goals of the game. He would then add assists on San Jose’s following two goals, giving him an impressive two goals and two assists during the Sharks’ 5-3 victory.
The victory moves the Sharks three points clear of the Los Angeles Kings for top spot in the Pacific Division. As for Pavelski, his four-point performance gives the former seventh-round draft pick 44 points on the season, and it earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, February 13, 2012.
