The Daily Gambling Fix — 2/24/12 — Hannah Martin
The Game: Montreal Canadiens @ Washington Capitals
The Reason: The Washington Capitals have gone under the total in nine of their last 13 home games and they have failed to score more than two goals in each of their last four games. Tonight they take on a Canadiens team that has scored just once in their last two games. These two teams have gone under the total in eight of their last nine games, and five of their last six in Washington. Both meetings this season ended with a 3-0 scoreline in favor of the Capitals. Look for another low scoring game to unfold tonight as this game goes under the total.
The Game: Vancouver Canucks @ New Jersey Devils
The Reason: The Canucks have been on a roll as of late, as they have won five of their last six overall, and seven of their last nine on the road. They are also coming off a big victory in Detroit which snapped the Red Wings record-breaking home win-streak, and they should be able to ride that momentum into tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils. The Canucks have had plenty of success in Jeresy, as they have won in four of their last five trips there. Look for them to continue to roll as they earn another victory in “the swamp” tonight.
