Vick Ballard Falls During 40-Yard Dash At NFL Combine (Video)
It is no secret that a poor time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine is enough to hurt the draft stock of any prospect, but how exactly does stumbling out of the gate and falling face-first into a tripod at the 10-yard mark affect one’s draft stock? That question is a tough one to answer, seeing as how few players, if any, have ever embarrassed themselves in such a manner during the history of the NFL Draft combine. However, we should be able to formulate an answer to that question following the 2012 NFL Draft thanks to Mississippi State running back Vick Ballard.
Ballard, who was projected to go somewhere between the 4th and 5th rounds according to NFLDraftScout.com, fell out of the starting blocks during his 40-yard dash at the NFL combine over the weekend, and now it will be interesting to see if his draft stock falls in a similar manner on April 26.
Here is a look at Ballard’s face-plant.
