Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night — Two From The New York Rivalry — 2/27/12

boulton vs. prustThe New York State rivalry is still alive and well.  That was evident last night when the New Jersey Devils traveled to Madison Square Gardens to take on the New York Rangers, as these two teams engaged in another hard fought battle that provided us with not one, but two great bouts.

The first took place late in the second period, as heavyweights Eric Boulton and Brandon Prust dropped the gloves and exchanged blows during an entertaining one-minute exchange.  And once they were done, it only took a few minutes before fans were treated to the second bout of the evening, as the Rangers’ Brandon Dubinsky took exception to a dirty hit by dropping the gloves with the Devils’ David Clarkson.

It was simply too tough to decided between the two bouts.  As a result, all four combatants earn a spot on our “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Monday, February 27, 2012.

You can watch both fights in the videos below.
