Stat Line Of The Night — 2/26/12 — Martin St. Louis
Stat Line Of The Night — 2/27/12 — Tyshawn Taylor
The Kansas Jayhawks entered the 2011-12 NCAA Basketball season having won the Big 12 title outright the past three seasons, and they have won or shared the title in each of the last seven seasons. They were looking to keep each of those impressive streaks going, and a win against Oklahoma State last night would ensure that they do just that.
They would get that win, thanks in large part to the performance of their senior guard, Tyshawn Taylor. In addition to scoring 27 points and adding two rebounds, two assists and a steal, Taylor recorded 10-straight points during a game-clinching run over the final five minutes of the game, as the Jayhawks earned the 70-58 victory.
Kansas will now enter the Big 12 tournament ranked No. 1 in the conference, and with a No. 3 ranking in the AP polls, they could also be headed for a No. 1 ranking in the NCAA Tournament. As for Taylor, he will be looking to lead his team on extended runs in both tournaments, but for now he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, February 27, 2012.
