Keeper Delivers Goal Kick Into The Wind, Scores On Own Goal (Video)
Holland’s Klaas Jan Huntelaar Scores, Knocks Himself Unconscious (Video)
Those who watched yesterday’s friendly soccer match between Holland and England at Wembley Stadium were treated to quite the contest, as a total of five goals were scored, including two beauties by Holland’s Arjen Robben and three during the final ten minutes of the game. However, the goal-scoring in this match wasn’t always a pretty sight. Take Klaas Jan Huntelaar’s goal that put Holland ahead 2-0 in the 58th minute, for example.
With a Dirk Kuyt cross towards the English goal available for the taking, Huntelaar was able to get enough of his head on the ball to put it past English keeper Joe Hart for Holland’s second goal of the game. But he also got enough of the head of English defender Chris Smalling to sending both players to the ground in a heap of pain.
Despite appearing to be unconscious for a moment, Huntelaar was able to walk off the pitch under his own power. As for Smalling, he had to be stretchered off, but was conscious at the time. Both players were immediately substituted from the game.
You can watching the violent midair collision in the video below.
England would go on to score two late goals to tie the game at 2-2, but this beauty by Arjen Robben would put Holland ahead for good, as they escaped with the 3-2 victory. Check it out.
