Stat Line Of The Night — 2/28/12 — Robin Lehner
Stat Line Of The Night — 2/29/12 — Kobe Bryant
There was plenty of doubt regarding Kobe Bryant’s status for last night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after he sustained a concussion and a broken nose following a hard foul by Dwyane Wade at Sunday’s All-Star Game. But after passing all of the required tests and proving that he was symptom free, Bryant was cleared to play, and he showed everyone that a broken nose and a little headache isn’t going to slow him down one bit.
Sporting his new protective facemask, Bryant showed no ill effects, as he recorded a game-high 31 points to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds during the Lakers’ convincing 104-85 victory.
While it was nice to see Bryant bounce back from his injury with a stellar performance like the one he put forth last night, what most of us are interested in seeing is how he responds to Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat when the two teams meet at the Staples Center on Sunday. Will he get his revenge, or will the red-hot Heat continue to roll? We’ll have to wait to give you an answer to that question, but for now Kobe earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
