Stat Line Of The Night — 3/19/12 — Brian Rolston
In terms of scoring, the 2011-12 NHL season hasn’t been a very productive one for Brian Rolston, as he entered last night’s game with just 13 points in 60 games. He recorded his first multi-point game of the season during a two-point effort against the Florida Panthers last Thursday, and he would double that total last night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Rolston factored in on half of the Bruins’ goals last night, as he recorded one goal and three assists during an 8-0 thrashing of their division rivals. The 39-year-old winger, who was acquired at the trade deadline, did most of his damage in the second period, recording a goal and three assists during the middle frame.
With the lopsided victory, the Bruins capped off their season series against the Leafs with a clean sweep, as they outscored them 36-10 during their six meetings. Rolston missed most of those games, but he did get himself involved in last night’s meeting in a big way, and as a result, he earns the “Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, March 19, 2012.
