Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night — Staubitz vs. McCormick — 3/21/12
There was only one fight in the NHL last night, but it was a good one, as Brad Staubitz and Cody McCormick dropped the gloves and went toe-to-toe during a Northeast Division battle between the Buffalo Sabres and the Montreal Canadiens.
With a spot in the playoffs on the line, the Sabres were in desperate need of a win on the scoreboard, and they would get just that, as they beat the Canadiens by a score of 3-0. One area where they weren’t so desperate for a victory was on the fight card, and that turned out to be a good thing, as it appears as though McCormick came out on the losing end of this bout. Nonetheless, both combatants put forth a valiant effort, earning them each a spot on the “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Wednesday, March 21, 2012.
