Stat Line Of The Night — 3/20/12 — Malkin, Crosby And Neal
Stat Line Of The Night — 3/21/12 — Josh Smith
With fourth-place in the Eastern Conference in their sights, the Atlanta Hawks are well aware of the fact that they have to win games like last night’s home contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers if they want any chance of hosting a first-round playoff series. And while the Cavs did give the Hawks everything they had, they simply had no answer for their star player, Josh Smith.
It was another one of those great all-around performances from the Hawks’ forward, as he recorded 32 points and 17 rebounds (both game-highs). Smith would also add five assists and three blocked shots during his 51 minutes of playing time, as Atlanta escaped with the narrow 103-102 victory.
With the season quickly winding down, every win becomes increasingly important, and last night’s win for the Hawks was no different. Smith was a key factor in the victory, and as a result, he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, March 21, 2012.
