The Game: NC State Wolfpack vs. Kansas Jayhawks

The Pick: NC State +8.5

The Reason: The Wolfpack enter tonight’s game on a roll, as they have won six of their last seven and their only defeat was a controversial two-point loss to North Carolina in the semi-finals of the NCAA Tournament.  They have already beaten the likes of San Diego State and Georgetown, and tonight they will take on their biggest challenge in a Kansas Jayhawks team that has won 11 of their last 12.  The Jayhawks do have the more talented roster, but NC State was an impressive 11-2 against the spread on the road this season and they appear to be playing their best ball at the moment.  Look for them to keep this game close as they cover the 8.5-point spread.

The Game: Ohio Bobcats vs. North Carolina Tar Heels

The Pick: North Carolina -10.5

The Reason: The Tar Heels may be without the services of Kendall Marshall, but they still have one of the most talented line-ups in the tournament, as at least three of their starters are slated to go in the opening round of this year’s NBA Draft.  John Henson appeared to be back at full strength during UNC’s 87-73 victory over Creighton, and that could be bad news for the the Bobcats, who have already beaten good teams in Michigan and South Florida, but they have yet to face an elite team like the Tar Heels.  I have the Heels going to the finals to face Kentucky, so I certainly don’t see them having any problems during their Sweet Sixteen match-up against an 11th-ranked team.  Look for UNC to roll, as they win by double-digits.

2012 Record: (49-55-5), This Week: (1-7), Last Week: (3-6-1)
