Stoke City’s Peter Crouch Scores “Goal Of The Year” Candidate (Video)
If someone told you that not even a miracle would help Stoke City beat Manchester City during their English Premier League match on Saturday, they would have been spot on in their analysis, as Stoke appeared to receive that miracle via a Peter Crouch wonder goal, but still could only manage to come away with the 1-1 draw.
With the game scoreless through the opening 58 minutes, Crouch delivered a perfect volley from the top corner of the 18-yard box, which sailed over the out-stretched arm of Man City keeper Joe Hart and into the far corner of the net.
While the goal may be good enough to get Crouch plenty of consideration for “Goal of the Year,” it was not enough to get his team the win, as a Yaya Toure blast during the 76th minute would help Man City escape with the 1-1 draw, and a crucial single point in the EPL standings.
Here is a look at Crouch’s wonder goal.
