The Daily Gambling Fix — 4/2/12 — Courtney Sheber
The Game: Kansas Jayhawks vs. Kentucky Wildcats
The Reason: Tonight the 2011-12 NCAA seasons for Kansas and Kentucky comes down to one final game, and it should be a good one. In a match-up that pits two of the best teams, two of the best coaches (Calipari vs. Self), and two of the best players (Davis vs. Robinson) in the nation against one another, the advantage has to go to the Wildcats. Both teams have talent, but it appears as thought the Wildcats have more of it, with five of their players (Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones, Marquis Teague and Doron Lamb) looking like 2012 NBA first-round picks. The Jayhawks should give the Wildcats a run for their money, but in the end we expect Kentucky’s depth to be too much for Kansas, as they run away with it down the stretch and cover the 6.5-point spread in the process.
The Game: Memphis Grizzlies @ Oklahoma City Thunder
The Reason: The Thunder continue to roll, as they have won five straight, and each of their last five home games. They are an incredible 23-4 at home this season, and tonight they take on a Grizzlies team that is 11-15 on the road this season. The Thunder have won six of the last seven against the Grizzlies, and they have covered the spread in five of those games. Look for them to come away with a convincing victory tonight, as they win by at least eight points.
2012 Record: (58-57-6), Last Week: (8-1-1)
