Stat Line Of The Night — 4/2/12 — Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis is slated to go first overall in this summer’s NBA Draft, largely because of his ability to do it all on the court. He put that impressive ability on display during last night’s NCAA Championship Game against the Kansas Jayhawks.
Davis couldn’t seem to find his stroke from the field, as he connected on just one of his ten attempts, but that didn’t seem to stop him from making an impact on this game, as he recorded 16 rebounds, five assists, three steals and six blocks to go along with his six points. He was a force to be reckoned with at both ends of the court, and that was exactly what the Kentucky Wildcats needed, as they capped off their incredible season with a 67-59 victory in the championship game.
That all-around performance on the court was an example of what Davis has done all year for his Wildcats. It is precisely why he is a lock to go first overall in the 2012 draft, and in this instance it earned the freshman phenom the “Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, April 2, 2012.
