Stat Line Of The Night — 4/11/12 — Andrew Bynum
Beating the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center has proven to be a difficult task for visiting teams this season, as the Spurs owned an impressive 23-4 record at home this season heading into last night. However, during last night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, it was the Spurs who seemed to be experiencing the most difficulty, as they simply couldn’t find an answer for Andrew Bynum.
The Lakers’ forward was a force to be reckoned with, as he pulled down an incredible 30 rebounds (8 offensive, 22 defensive), to go along with 16 points, two assists and two blocks on the evening. The Lakers were without Kobe Bryant for the contest, but with Bynum putting up numbers like that, they didn’t need him, as they cruised to the easy 98-84 victory.
With the Clippers winning as well last night, the Lakers’ victory ensured that they remain 1.5 games ahead of their L.A. rivals in their battle for top spot in the Pacific Division. As for Bynum, his 30 rebound performance was the first in the NBA in more than two years, and it earned him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
