The Daily Gambling Fix — 4/16/12 — Melania
The Game: St. Louis Blues @ San Jose Sharks
The Reason: The St. Louis Blues showed us why they were the top defensive team in the league during the regular season, as Jaroslav Halak and Brian Elliott combined for the Game Two shutout victory over the San Jose Sharks. The 3-0 win marked the fourth time in the last five games that the Blues and Sharks have gone under the five-goal total, with the other result being a push during Game One of the series (a 3-2 victory for the Sharks). San Jose is allowing only 2.3 goals against at home this season, while the Blues are allowing only 2.2 against on the road. Look for both teams to continue playing a tight defensive game as Game 3 tonight goes under the total.
The Game: Philadelphia Phillies @ San Francisco Giants
The Reason: Tim Lincecum enters tonight’s game against the Phillies in rough shape, as he is 0-1 in his first two starts with an atrocious 12.91 ERA. He will be up against a hot Roy Halladay, who is 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA in his first two starts. Lincecum has lost his last three starts, while the Phillies have won four of their last five games in San Francisco. Look for Halladay to continue his dominance as he and the Phillies come away with the win tonight.
