David Legwand’s Hand Pass Assisted On Opposing Team’s Goal (Video)
During the Nashville Predators’ opening-round playoff series against the Detroit Red Wings, David Legwand used his hand to prevent a goal, as he leaped onto a loose puck in the crease during Game 4, and quickly covered it up without getting called for the “delay of game” penalty by the officials.
During Game 2 of the Preds’ second-round series against the Phoenix Coyotes last night, Legwand was putting his hands to use once again. However, this time he was causing goals, rather than preventing them, as he caught an airborne puck behind his own goal and inexplicably tossed it in front of his own net to a wide open RadimVrbata, who slipped the puck past Pekka Rinne for the Coyotes’ third goal of the game.
Phoenix would go on to score two more, en route to the 5-3 victory. Here is a look at Legwand’s “handy” set-up on the Coyotes’ third goal.
