Stat Line Of The Night — 5/3/12 — Brandon Morrow
Stat Line Of The Night — 5/6/12 — Carmelo Anthony
After losing the first three games of their best-of-seven series with the Miami Heat rather convincingly, the New York Knick knew they would need an almost super-human performance during Game 4 on Sunday in order to keep their season alive. They would get the super-human performance that they were looking for, and it would come from none other than Carmelo Anthony.
Amar’e Stoudemire’s return to the Knicks’ line-up after sustaining a hand injury following Game 2′s loss was the story everyone was talking about before the game, but by the time the final buzzer sounded, it was Melo that was the talk of the town, as his 41 points, six rebounds and four assists helped the Knicks edge the Heat by a score of 89-87.
With the win, the Knicks have guaranteed themselves one more game this post-season, but it will take place in Miami, where the Heat lost just five games all season. Avoiding elimination will almost certainly be tougher the second time around. They managed to survive their first threat of elimination thanks to Anthony’s big game, as he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, May 6, 2012.
