The Daily Gambling Fix — 5/8/12 — Kaya Danielle
The Game: Boston Celtics @ Atlanta Hawks
The Reason: After winning the first game of the series, the Atlanta Hawks have fallen on hard times, losing their last three contests to the Boston Celtics. Sunday’s 22-point victory for the Celtics seemed to be especially deflating for the Hawks, as they simply had no answer for All-Star guard Rajon Rondo. They had one day off to try and regroup before tonight’s must-win game, but with Boston playing some of their best basketball at the moment, and momentum on the Celtics’ side, we don’t expect the Hawks to stay alive tonight, as they lose the game and fail to cover the spread in the process.
The Game: Philadelphia 76ers @ Chicago Bulls
The Reason: With Derrick Rose out of the line-up, the Chicago Bulls are not the best team in the Eastern Conference. With both Rose and Joakim Noah out of the line-up, they are barely a playoff team. Rose will definitely be out for tonight’s contest, and Noah could also be out with an ankle injury, as he is listed as a game-time decision. After losing Rose in the opening game of the series, the Bulls have been unable to beat the 76ers. We don’t expect that to change tonight, as Philadelphia covers the spread and earns the series-clinching victory in the process.
