The Daily Gambling Fix — 5/25/21 — Rachel Watson
Here are some of the best sports plays for all you gamblers out there.
The Game: New York Rangers @ New Jersey Devils
The Reason: Following the Devils’ 5-3 victory in Game 5, this series has now gone over the total in three of the five games. While that might have some believing that these two teams will go over the total once again tonight, we can’t help but think otherwise. Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist had his worst performance of the playoffs last game, as he allowed four goals against on 16 shots. Look for him to rebound, while Marin Brodeur should also be on top of his game, as he will want to redeem himself after dropping a critical Game 6 to Mark Messier and the New York Rangers during the 1994 Eastern Conference Semifinal. With both goalies motivated to be at their best tonight, don’t expect many pucks to get by either of them, as this game goes under the total.
The Game: Kansas City Royals @ Baltimore Orioles
The Reason: The Orioles enter tonight’s game against the Royals with a 28-17 record, good enough for first in the tough AL East. They send pitcher Jason Hammel to the mound, and he has been solid thus far this season, putting together a 5-1 record and a 3.12 ERA. He will be up against Bruce Chen, who is 3-4 with a 4.17 ERA in 2012. The Orioles have won six of their last nine overall, and six of their last eight against the Royals, while Kansas City has won just two of their last eight overall. Look for the Orioles to beat up on Chen and the Royals, as they come away with the win tonight.
2012 Record: (91-96-10), This Week: (4-4), Last Week: (3-7)
