Zach Parise Gets Caught Trying To Score With His Hands (Video)
Scoring goals against the Los Angeles Kings is not easy. Their 2.07 goals against average during the regular season was second in the league, and their defensive game has been even better in the playoffs, as they have allowed an NHL-best 1.53 goals against during the post-season.
The New Jersey Devils were well aware of this when they kicked off their Stanley Cup Finals series against the Kings last night, but they showed everyone that they were willing to do anything in order to put the puck into the back of the net. Unfortunately for them, they were only able to accomplish that feat on two occasions, and one of those was done with the help of an illegal act by Zach Parise, as he used his glove to swat the puck over the goal line during a scrum in front of the Kings’ net. Much to his dismay, he wasn’t fooling anyone, as both the referee and the cameras were in perfect position to catch him in the act.
Needless to say, the Devils sure could have used that goal, as the score remained tied at 1-1, before Anze Kopitar ended it for the Kings 8:13 into overtime.
Here is a look at Parise’s desperate – and illegal – effort to win the game for the Devils.
