Stat Line Of The Night — 6/5/12 — Colby Rasmus
Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Colby Rasmus entered last night’s game against the Chicago White Sox with a very unimpressive .227 batting average. He left the game with a somewhat respectable .247 batting average. So how does one make up a whopping .020 points on their batting average in a single game you ask? Simple. By going a perfect 5-for-5 at the dish.
Rasmus did just that, as he hit a home run, a double and three singles in his five plate appearances. Along with the five hits, the 25-year-old also recorded four runs and three RBIs, as he led the Jays to an impressive 9-5 victory over the red hot White Sox.
Rasmus did commit a costly error during the game that resulted in a run for the White Sox, but as they say, “he may not save you any runs in the field, but he’ll earn you plenty at the dish.” That pretty much sums up Colby’s night at US Cellular Field, as he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
