Usain Bolt Almost Runs Over Flower Girl at Track Meet in Norway (Video)
I think maybe the folks in charge of the Samsung IAAF Diamond League and the organizers of the Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway, might want to review their policies regulating who is allowed on the track after a race before their next meet.
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won the 100-meter race yesterday in a solid 9.79 seconds. Afterward, as he and his competitors were slowing down, they were swarmed on the track with photographers, handlers, greeters, and flower girls.
But these guys are not about to come to an abrupt halt and risk an injury less than two months before the 2012 London Olympics. Instead, they’d rather just run over anyone who gets in their way, just like Bolt did to this flower girl.
Now, as you can see, Usain Bolt crashes into the girl as gently and politely as one possibly could. He grabs onto her shoulders to make sure the impact doesn’t send her flying back, before giving her a “sorry I almost flattened you” hug.
Still, seems to me like this whole thing could have been avoided if they just made everyone wait until the guys had come to a complete stop. But hey, what do I know? Like pretty much all of you, I spend about 2 total hours watching track and field every 4 years.
