Stat Line Of The Night — 6/11/12 — Andriy Shevchenko
Stat Line Of The Night — 6/12/12 — Kevin Durant
Two of the NBA’s biggest stars faced off in Oklahoma City last night when LeBron James and the Miami Heat took on Kevin Durant and the OKC Thunder in Game One of the NBA Finals. It has long been debated who the best player in the NBA is at the moment, and if this series is supposed to provide us with an answer to that question, it appears as though Durant has jumped out to an early lead.
That statement isn’t intended to take anything away from LeBron, as he had himself a solid game, recording 30 points, nine rebounds and four assists. But despite that impressive performance, he couldn’t compete with Kevin Durant on this night, as the three-time scoring champ led the way for the Thunder with 36 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, en route to the 105-94 Game One victory.
With the win, the Thunder remain undefeated at home, as they are now 8-0 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. As for Durant, he appears to be on track to win playoff MVP honors if his team can continue their winning ways, but in the meantime, he’ll have to settle with “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
