Stat Line Of The Night — 6/18/12 — R.A. Dickey
Stat Line Of The Night — 6/19/12 — LeBron James
Had the Oklahoma City Thunder emerged with a victory in Game Four of the NBA Finals last night, we probably would have awarded the “Stat Line of the Night” to Russell Westbrook, as he recorded an incredible 43 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. But with his team trailing by three during the dying seconds of the game, Westbrook committed an inexplicable foul on Mario Chalmers, sealing the victory for the Heat, while forfeiting the “Stat Line of the Night” to LeBron James.
You see, I tend to award these “Stat Line of the Nights” to players on winning teams, and the Heat fit that description, as they were victorious thanks in large part to LeBron’s 26 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists (not to mention Westbrook’s unnecessary foul late in the game). James was just one rebound short of the triple double, but he still helped his team earn a 104-98 victory and a 3-1 series lead, while earning himself “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
