Usain Bolt Almost Runs Over Flower Girl at Track Meet in Norway (Video)
Remember Dan O’Brien? He and fellow U.S. Decathlete Dave Johnson were part of this massive Reebok ad-campaign leading up to the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The campaign was called “Dan & Dave,” and it tried to use the two rivals and medal-favorites to spike interest in both the decathlon, and Reebok, of course.
The campaign worked really well. Everyone knew who Dan & Dave were, and they were all excited to see who would win gold in Barcelona.
The only problem? Neither of them won. O’Brien was a disaster at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trails and didn’t even make the team in 1992, and Johnson had to settle for the Bronze. It was pretty much a catastrophic failure.
Luckily for O’Brien, he did make the US Olympic squad in 1996. And this time he made good on all the hype (albeit a little bit late) by winning gold in the Decathlon.
Why do I bring all this up? Because Dan O’Brien was at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials this weekend, and during an interview with NBC’s newly acquired sports reporter, Michelle Beedle, the guy fell off his seat.
Check it out:
It just makes you wonder, what is it with this guy and the Olympic trials? It’s like they’re Dan O’Brien’s cryptonite.
