Stat Line Of The Night — 6/25/12 — Matt Latos
Stat Line Of The Night — 6/26/12 — Adam LaRoche
The Washington Nationals have been quite the pleasant surprise this season, as they entered last night’s game against the Colorado Rockies with a 41-30 record, good enough for first in the entire National League. Much of their success has been the result of some great pitching, but yesterday it was the Nationals’ bat that were doing most of the damage, and more specifically, the bat of Adam LaRoche.
LaRoche started the scoring for the Nats. as he sent a solo home run over the left-field wall in the second inning to give his team the 1-0 lead. His teammates would account for the following nine runs, before LaRoche ended what he started, hitting a two-run homer in the sixth inning to cap off the Nats’ impressive offensive display during their 12-5 victory over the Rockies.
In the end, LaRoche went 2-for-4 at the plate with two homers, a walk, three runs and three RBIs. It was quite the impressive performance, and it earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, June 26, 2012.
