Fan Catches Foul Ball With One Hand While Holding Baby…No Big Deal (Video)
There are lots of great ways to catch foul balls at a baseball game. You can do it with a popcorn bucket, a blanket, a beer, or even your face—though that last one is not recommended.
However, without a doubt, the crème de la crème of foul ball catches is the gloveless one-handed baby-holding catch. For one thing, you’re catching the ball with one hand and without the aid of a baseball glove, which is no easy task. For another thing, yeah, you’re holding a baby, and if you drop him or her, your wife is probably going to be pissed.
Now in recent years, we’ve seen a couple of great gloveless one-handed baby-holding foul ball catches. There was a great one by a dad at a Chattannooga Lookouts game. Then there was another one by a dad at a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
And now there’s this one, in which a dad makes a great one-handed grab on a foul ball off the bat of the Cubs’ Alfonso Soriano on Monday night at Turner Field in Atlanta. Check it out:
Interestingly, you’ll notice that the dad is decked in Braves gear, while mom and baby are both sporting Cubs apparel. So I guess we know who’s in charge at their house.
