The Daily Gambling Fix — 7/9/21 — Amanda Nicole
Here are some of the best sports plays for all you gamblers out there.
The Game: MLB Home Run Derby
The Reason: The current MLB home run leader, Jose Bautista, will make his second appearance at the MLB Home Run Derby tonight in Kauffman Stadium. Last year he didn’t fare too well, hitting only four homers and making an early exit in the first round. This year the Blue Jays’ slugger enters the break on a roll, having hit an incredible 14 home runs in the month of June. He has only hit one thus far in the month of July, but with 27 home runs on the season (tied for most in the MLB with Josh Hamilton), we expect to see plenty more dingers off the bat of Bautista tonight.
The Game: MLB Home Run Derby
The Reason: If you aren’t going to go with the man entering the competition with the most home runs this season, why not pick last year’s champ instead? Cano had himself quite the performance during last year’s event, as he belted a total of 20 home runs during the first two rounds, before hitting another 12 in the finals to beat Boston’s Adrian Gonzalez. This year Cano enters the competition with 20 home runs on the season, and 11 in the month of June. He could put on another airshow tonight, making him a good bet at +500.
