The Reason: All-Star Games always feature plenty of big bats, but the American League starting roster seems especially loaded this season. Not only do they have six of the top eight home run leaders on their roster, but four of those players will be featured in their starting lineup (Hamilton, Bautista, Ortiz and Granderson). Those bats should be able to provide more than enough run support for a pitching staff that includes some of the league’s top arms, like Justin Verlander, Jered Weaver, CC Sabathia, Yu Darvish and Chris Sale. Look for the American League to snap their two game All-Star losing streak with a victory at Kauffman Stadium tonight.
