Kevin Love Thinks He’ll Make U.S. Olympic Basketball Team As “The Token White Guy” (Video)
Kyrie Irving Thinks He Could Beat Kobe One-On-One (Video)
Yesterday Kobe Bryant, never the most humble man in sports, made headlines when he made the laughable claim that this year’s USA Olympic Men’s Basketball Team could defeat the original Dream Team from 1992. And I’m not passing judgement when I say the claim was “laughable”; I’m just stating the facts. Michael Jordan himself, when asked by a reporter what he thought about Kobe’s assertion, is said to have laughed out loud before saying Kobe was flat out wrong.
However, it’s not like Black Mamba doesn’t know what it’s like to be challenged by brash youngsters. Back in May, #1 overall draft pick Anthony Davis told Dan Patrick that he’s eager to get the chance to face Kobe and shut him down.
And today we find out that Kobe was challenged again by another Team USA teammate: the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving.
Irving may have played only one year in the NBA, but he was the #1 pick in 2011 and the 2012 ROY. Then he was selected for the Olympic squad and reunited with Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. So I guess all this has the kid brimming with confidence.
Hence the following exchange between Irving and Kobe, which was filmed and uploaded to YouTube by DukeBluePlanet.com:
So what do you think? Could Irving beat Kobe 1v1?
