The Daily Gambling Fix — 7/19/12 — Leila
The Game: Chicago White Sox @ Boston Red Sox
The Reason: The White Sox enter tonight’s game having won eight of their last 12 overall, and eight of their last ten meetings against the Red Sox in Boston. Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz has an impressive 8-3 record on the season, but his 5.54 ERA is less than stellar and he has earned the victory just once in his last four starts against Chicago. As for White Sox starter Jose Quintana, he is 4-1 on the season with a 2.89 ERA and his team has won in each of his last three starts. Look for the White Sox to close out this series by giving Kevin Youkilis one more victory against his old team at Fenway.
The Game: New York Yankees @ Oakland Athletics
The Reason: The Yankees have won six of their last seven overall, and four of their last five on the road. They are an impressive 27-17 away from Yankee Stadium on the season. They enter tonight’s game having won four straight against the Athletics, and each of the last five meetings between these two teams in Oakland. Few teams are having any success against the Yankees these days, and we don’t expect that to change tonight, as they earn yet another win against the Oakland Athletics.
2012 Record: (124-120-11), This Week: (4-2)
